The most popular category is cleaning and washing products, which accounts for about 79% of the entire segment. Decorative cosmetics produced in Russia won 48% of the market share in 2023. Domestic skin and hair care products accounted for 40% of the product range, growing by one and a half times.

Household chemicals and hygiene products have become the fastest growing categories of goods sold through online channels. Increased demand contributes to the growth of production capacity at enterprises. Last year, online sales of household chemicals increased by 43.5%.

Russian manufacturers of household chemicals are faced with a shortage of polyethylene, polypropylene, paints and plastics, as well as surfactants for detergents and washing agents. Some types of ingredients have fallen under sanctions, for example, polyacrylates and phosphonates.

In 2022, we contacted UVMILK with the task of cleaning liquid shampoos, shower gels, and balms from undissolved components. The presence of impurities in finished products spoiled the appearance and reduced consumer demand. Our company faced an acute issue of filtration. To clean liquid and gel products, we installed a UVCHEMICAL 150 micron mesh filter, followed by a 10 micron polypropylene filter.

The sequential use of two levels of filtration made it possible to trap larger particles first, then smaller ones, and contributed to obtaining a uniform homogeneous texture of the finished product. Moreover, the filters cope equally well with cleaning compositions of different viscosities. We will continue to cooperate with UVMILK in 2023, we plan to install filters on the new production line.

Such violations are unacceptable for the product, so the batches are returned to the plant. In 2022, after changing raw material suppliers, we had problems with the consistency of the gels. During the reaction, the raw materials lumped heavily and we had to look for a solution. We contacted the company UVMILK. On the recommendation of UVMILK employees, we installed a UVCHEMICAL 150 micron mesh filter, followed by a 10 micron polypropylene filter.

Thanks to two-level filtration, we were able to clean the product from both large lumps and small foreign inclusions, which contributed to obtaining a stable homogeneous texture. Over time, the problem with the quality of raw materials has also been solved, but we use filters as a backup for compositions of different viscosity.
